Founded in 2016 in Austin, Texas, Helical Solar was born from a bold vision: to transform cutover timberlands in the Southeast into thriving agrivoltaic solar farms. Our patent-pending solar arrays are engineered for strength and efficiency, featuring pre-assembled, modular components designed for rapid deployment using common utility trucks.

Driven by industry demand, our technology seamlessly adapted to meet the rising need for elevated agrivoltaics. In 2023, Helical Solar was selected by the USDA for their Climate-Smart Commodities initiative, helping to offset the carbon footprint of the beef and cattle industry through sustainable energy solutions.

Recognizing the need for a resilient agrivoltaic system capable of withstanding extreme weather, we saw a natural extension into defense and military applications. Supporting our nation’s warfighters became a challenge we embraced. Our expeditionary hybrid microgrid is designed to deliver critical, renewable power to the most remote and challenging environments, providing a life-saving solution for missions across the globe.
